We met up with Jess and Dan on what must have been the warmest (and foggiest!) December day imaginable. It was a balmy 50 degrees, and a vast blanket of white hung heavy over the city. We had initially planned to meet at Soldier Field, Jess and Dan are HUGE Bears fans! We were excited to shoot in the beautiful Colonnades, but when we arrived, we discovered it was closed for the day! Luckily, our second location was close-by and beautifully surreal in the haze.
Chelsea, their adorable teenage chocolate lab joined in for a few pictures. She was very excited to explore somewhere new, with her nose to the ground taking in all the strange city sights and smells around her. Despite her excitement, she sat pretty for her close ups and posed beautifully with her parents. Chelsea was a wonderful addition to Jess and Dan's engagement photos, we love when the four-legged children are included in these special memories!
The fog lay thick at the lakeside, a wall of white resting upon the water. They giggled and embraced as the mists wrapped around them, with the stillness of the calm grey water below.
We got lost in our surroundings, the smell of crisp, fresh air in abundance. The beach was a perfect spot to give the engagement session a natural vibe. With the fog and beautiful light, it almost seemed as if they were somewhere else, completely removed from the bustle of a towering city.
We had so much fun with these two, and are beyond excited for their upcoming wedding this August! And once again, we thank our amazing friends for sending them our way- Ashley and Jenin, we love you!
